feeding frenzy

Well, the past three days have brought the beginnings of "solid" food. (read: watery rice cereal). We're not sure how much is getting into their tummies, but it sure is fun!

south central cowgirl

Lucy tried on her aunt Kathy's cowboy hat...it didn't quite fit...and yet it did.

beyond words

This picture captures the joy of twins more than words ever could. We can't imagine our lives without both of them...and Lucy's making sure we're not trying to imagine life without her.

halloween fun with friends

Lucy and Tyler donned their first Halloween costumes, and hung out with their buddy, Marcus Gee, the lion. Even with no candy, they had a blast! Too bad those costumes won't fit next year.

a view from a safe place

so much for sleep positioners, part 2

Yes, just a few days later, this was what I walked in to see at 7:00 am. And, yes, Lucy's knee is fully wedged in between those slats & needed to be bent just right to get it out. True to her disposition, she seemed to find it no big deal.

so much for sleep positioners

Apparently these things are supposed to keep your kid in place & not let them roll over. Hmm.

she's just a beautiful girl

reading with daddy

Our evening routine: bath, dinner, goodnight moon, and lights out. And, yes, I can now recite goodnight moon by heart.

my name is Lucy and i have cool hands

wait...do we KNOW you?

They seem to be recognizing (or not recongnizing) people these days...can you tell?

peace at last

A Day at the Beach

On Saturday, Lucy and Tyler spent the day with their cousin, Scottie, and their aunt and uncle Tracy and Charlie, as well as with mommy, daddy, grandpa phil, and grammy di. It was mostly about sleeping, eating, and crying...but napping on the beach seems to be one of their favorite things!

Rose Bowl Party

Lucy & Tyler attended their first InterVarsity event this past week: a Rose Bowl barbeque.

Lucy was chilling out with mommy in her usual relaxed way.

Tyler saw his buddy Marcus (I think). At least it seems that Marcus saw Tyler, if only for a moment.

And Tyler checked things out as daddy talked in a way that looked real intense. (Does he do this a lot? I guess maybe so.)
All in all it was a fun evening (though it made for a heck of a night...oh, well...i won't bore you with another sleepless night story...)

morning walks

We're trying to develop as many rhythms and traditions to our growing family as possible. The latest attempt? The morning walk.

For the past 10 days, each day, after their morning feeding (6:30 or 7:00 am) we try to take them for a walk around the neighborhood, the Coliseum, the rose garden...as far as we can get them before they cross the tiredness threshhold. (As far as we can tell, that's about 20 to 30 minutes right now). They seem to love it, and we (usually) do too. (Occasionally it's rather painful when we've been up since 4:00 am...yet probably good for us anyway!)

These little munchkins are a great way to start the day!!
